Abstract

As education strives for sustainable development, innovative approaches are crucial for enhancing teaching practices and student outcomes. This study investigates the impact of AI-driven personalized learning on Customs Administration education at Mariners Polytechnic Colleges Foundation of Canaman, Philippines. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, the research explores how AI tools enhance collaboration and understanding in core customs subjects, examines perceptions of instructors and students, and assesses alignment with CHED Memorandum Order No. 30, Series of 2021 standards. Data was collected from 120 BS Customs Administration students, 6 faculty members, and a control group of 60 students, using surveys, interviews, and classroom observations. Results indicate significant improvements in student engagement and understanding of complex customs concepts  in the AI-enhanced group compared to the control group. The study reveals strong correlations between AI tool usage and improved learning outcomes, particularly in Customs Laws  and Tariff Classification . However, challenges in faculty preparedness and equitable implementation across the curriculum were identified. The research underscores the potential of AI to revolutionize customs education while highlighting the need for comprehensive faculty development and careful consideration of resource allocation for successful implementation.
