The anthelmintic properties of Coffee Pulp ethanolic extract were determined in terms on the worm motility inhibition and, mortality index of Ascaridia galli in vitro as well as the dose of pulp extract found to be the most effective. For twelve hours, worm motility was evaluated an interval of 5, 7 and 12 hours at a dose concentration of 200μg/ml (T1), 250μg/ml(T2), 300μg/ml(T3). The worm motility and mortality index were then calculated and analyzed. Inhibition of motility indicates worm mortality/paralysis.The results suggest that the anthelmintic efficacy of pulp extract which, can cause worm motility inhibition started at 7 to 12 hours of exposure to T2 until T3. However, at T3 which caused a higher degree of worm mortality. With regards to mortality index the highest was found after 5 hours of incubation with 4.5mg/ml Levamisole, (9.333%). This suggest that although the highest worm mortality index was attained by the commercial dewormers, but worm motility indices were measured at the negative control. The T3 has the highest effect in worm motility inhibition and mortality, thus it has the highest capacity to be utilized as anthelmintic. In vivo studies and other Gastrointestinal Nematodes (GIN) not only on poultry species but other livestock species are recommended.
