Micro enterprises are crucial to the local economy in Naga City, Philippines, providing employment and income opportunities for many residents. However, these enterprises often face significant challenges that threaten their sustainability, including climate extremes, economic shocks, and social disruptions. This study aims to assess the vulnerabilities of livelihood assets among micro enterprises in Naga City, using the "Exposure-Sensitivity-Adaptability" framework (Xu Zhao et al., 2020). The research will examine the common vulnerabilities faced by micro enterprises in terms of human, social, natural, physical, and financial capital. A mixed-methods approach will be employed, gathering data from micro enterprise owners and stakeholders in Naga City through surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions. The study will investigate how vulnerabilities impact enterprise sustainability and resilience, and identify key factors influencing vulnerability, such as education, social networks, and living conditions (Hidalgo, 2019). The findings will inform recommendations for policymakers and stakeholders to support micro enterprise development and enhance their resilience and sustainability. By understanding the vulnerabilities and adaptive capacities of micro enterprises, this study will contribute to the development of targeted interventions to promote economic growth, poverty reduction, and sustainable development in Naga City. Ultimately, this research aims to support the growth and resilience of micro enterprises, fostering a more sustainable and equitable local economy.
